"Christensen the clear choice for Daly City Council"
Wednesday, October 13, 2004 San Mateo County Times: Our Opinion, page News 11

"In Daly City, it's time to bring the quintessential outsider inside.

To call Judith Christensen a gadfly is to minimize her impact on the City Council--to most of the members, she's a real pain. Her views are inconvenient and uncomfortable. And that's why voters should choose her to fill one of the two open council seats in November.

Christensen will be the first to tell you that she stands for openness in government, that she represents the people of Daly City, not the developers, and that she will inject diversity of views into a council that has little.

She grounds herself thoroughly in the issues, and while you might disagree with her, you can't charge this third grade teacher with failing to do her homework. The best part: No one had to ask her to run, and she didn't wait around for the endorsement of the powers-that-be. She wants the job, and it's hard not to be inspired by passion. . . .

Torres and the council majority are going to have to do more than just nod their heads after Councilwoman Christensen speaks. Even if, as expected, they routinely outvote her. the issues she raises are going to count. . . .

We urge the voters of Daly City to choose Judith Christensen . . . for City Council on Nov. 2."
