This information is provided by the candidate

As a candidate for the Board of Education in Paso Robles, Jaime Corvera wants to keep our schools on the right track. We need to remove barriers to student achievement and teacher performance, and hold teachers to the highest standards of professionalism. He wants more input from teachers, and less from district level bureaucrats and politicians.

We need to promote a partnership between teachers and parents. Teachers are on the front lines, working as trained professionals to prepare our kids for tomorrows opportunities. But teachers cannot do it alone, and they cannot help improve our schools if they are not a part of the decision making process. They must be able to have meaningful input and be an integral part of the decisions made for our schools. They in partnership with parents should have the influence they need when it comes to spending priorities, academic curriculum standards and discipline. This will assure that teachers have the support they need to do what they do best-teach.

Working together as parents, students, teachers, community members, we can assure that our kids will be prepared to take advantage of the opportunities that life has to offer and to lead successful adult lives.
