Position Papers
Give every child a chance
Every child should have a chance to succeed and we must provide programs to insure that success. Children's needs are the first and last consideration in decision-making. Schools that draw students from low socio-economic areas need extra support. Intervention programs need to be in place for students who are in danger of falling behind. Teachers need support because of the demands of high-stakes testing and accountability.
Technology
Computers and technology are important ingredients to the success of our students, schools and country. Students need to learn how to use technology for tomorrow's world of work. The district needs to use technology as the private sector does for efficiency and to enhance the quality of our product.
School safety
All of the stakeholders, especially students, must feel safe in attending school.
