Focusing On People, Not Politics

By Shawn P. Reifsteck

Candidate for Supervisor; County of San Francisco; District 7

This information is provided by the candidate
The best Cure for City Hall Fever is making government more accessible and accountable to all San Franciscans. Here is how I plan to do that.
During the past few years, the public has become more cynical and suspect of how their tax dollars are spent. As a non-profit manager, I have learned how to stretch every dollar as far as possible.

As District 7 Supervisor, I pledge to help restore your faith in the system by increasing transparency and improving accountability of leaders in the public sector. It is especially important that residents know the priorities city officials are using during a time of budget cuts. Specifically, I will:

  • Open a year-round office in District 7 and sponsor monthly town hall meetings, so that all District residents can have access to their government officials.

  • Work with all City Departments to streamline their operations and save the taxpayer money;

  • Establish a semi-annual Supervisor Accountability Report Card, that allows all residents to track their Supervisor's record in office;

  • Improve City' Sunshine Ordinances so that the public is fully informed and appropriately engaged in government actions and budget decisions can be more easily understood;

  • Implement policies and procedures that prevent future City budgets from experiencing the crisis we currently face.

Together, we can Cure City Hall Fever.
