Biographical Highlights
  • Occupation: Teacher/Parent/School Board Member
  • Eric Mar has taught Asian American Studies and Ethnic Studies at San Francisco State University since 1992.
  • He is an attorney and the past director, Northern California Coalition for Immigrant Rights and past Assistant Dean, New College Law School
  • Eric's wife Sandra Chin Mar is a teacher who has taught in the district since 1987. Their daughter Jade is 4 and 1/2 years old.
  • As a parent, teacher and longtime community activist, I am committed to improving educational opportunity and achievement for all students.
  • Over the past four years on the School Board I have served as an independent, responsive and effective advocate for students, parents and teachers.
