To Whom it May Concern:

For the last six years Michael Winn has been a close colleague and
friend. I can attest to his exceptional effectiveness with people, his
creativity and depth, as well as his gifts for communicating and
writing. Few persons inspire or have the confidence and capacity
to take on community problems with a vision of possibility as Michael
Winn does. He possesses a combination of intelligence, work ethic
and integrity that such work necessitates. I have always known
Michael to be a most versatile, constructive, and sophisticated
world citizen, and I truly envy a community that would have him as
a leader. I have always known him to be entirely exceptional in his
ability to meet strenuous and challenging intellectual and work
demands, all of which have demonstrated Michael as a brilliant
thinker and actor, grounded and yet inspired.

Michael Winn is immediately striking in his evident passion for social
justice. In his life he has encountered an iniquitous world and his
response has been to fully engage it at every juncture, whether as
citizen, activist, filmmaker and more. In such work Michael
demonstrates not only his values and social commitments, but also
evinces his diverse skills and abilities to work effectively with others in
social change organizations.

I have no doubt that Michael Winn will be an outstanding member of
Del Mar's city council. He will deliver! His energy and commitment
are impressive, and I am sure he will be successful in this opportunity
to contribute to the community and to the fight for social justice.

Sincerely,

Michael Coyle
