Position Papers
THE RED-LIGHT CAMERA SCAM
Red light cameras, as we have all seen from the City of San Diego's debacle, are nothing more than slot machines at our intersections. They do not catch red light runners - they time yellow lights. They don't prevent accidents. Studies in Los Angeles and Australia show they actually cause more accidents.
OPEN CITY HALL EVERY DAY
Encinitas City Hall closes every other Friday. If you have business at City Hall, you need to remember, or guess, if they are open. City Hall should be open 5 days a week, every week.
AUDIT THE BUDGET
The City budget is prepared based on a plethora of subjective assumptions of future revenue. The people making the assumptions and projections are the City Staff.
