By Ed Gallo

Candidate for Council Member; City of Escondido

TO MY FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS:

Four years ago my motto was ESCONDIDO FIRST. My goals were to improve Escondido's IMAGE AND APPEARANCE with a strong emphasis on economic development and public safety. I maintain that same philosophy and promise today. Look at what we've done with Los Arboles, Park Place and Westside neighborhoods and now the Mercado Business District and you can see that I and the Council have been effective.

I have worked to bring in 3,000 to 4,000 higher paying jobs in the new Escondido Research and Technology Center. East Valley now has Home Depot and Walmart coming in the near future. Charter High School and Valley High Schools have new first time ever permanent state of the art facilities due in part to my participation in the schools subcommittees. I helped transform our downtown into one of the most vibrant entertainment and dining venues in the county. My commitment to public safety and a graffiti free Escondido is stronger than ever and will continue. Today we have much more affordable housing and employment opportunities for current and new residents.

There is so much more that I can tell you but the bottom line is Escondido is now an exciting community in which to live and I believe I have kept my promises to you. We ARE better off than we were four years ago. The work is not done and that is why I ask you to vote for me to continue the vision we all have in making Escondido the community that our children and grandchildren will choose to call home and raise their families. I thank you all for your support. For more go to http://www.edgallo.com.
