Council Member; City of Santa Cruz

Santa Cruz needs leadership that strengthens our community's economic health and delivery of vital city services while protecting our environment and quality of life.

We face budget uncertainties, I have experience bringing people together in government, business and the community to solve complex problems. I managed the campaign that raised $86 million to upgrade public schools and served as treasurer for the successful Save Our City campaign.

As a manager in my family's business, Bookshop Santa Cruz, and a law lecturer at UCSC, I understand how people of all viewpoints must work together to promote positive change.

As a boardmember of the Santa Cruz Education Foundation, Santa Cruz Community Credit Union, Dientes Community Dental Care, and the city's Economic Advisory Task Force, I have experience finding long-term solutions that provide affordable workforce housing, protect social services, support locally owned businesses and increase opportunities for every Santa Cruzan.

We cannot ignore long-term planning in favor of quick fixes. We must work now to ensure that our community is environmentally, economically, and culturally sustainable not only for the next four years, but for the next forty.

I'll bring a fresh voice with new ideas and energy to this process.
