Academic Excellence - Investing In Our Children's Future

By Donald M. Clark

Candidate for Board Member; Aromas-San Juan Unified School District

This information is provided by the candidate
As parents we owe it to our children to demand they receive the best education possible. It is our responsibility and duty to assist in this process. The success of our families and communities will fall on the shoulders of our children when they reach adulthood. A school board that accepts nothing less than ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE is an investment in their future!
Education is the greatest gift we can give to our children! The success of our children is determined by the level of education we as parents and as a community provide. Education is the key, and we hold this key. It is our responsibility to take this key and unlock the door to all of our children.

When we strive for ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE we are setting a goal and must build and implement a process that will help us achieve this goal. We must implement a process, so improved, that is essentially incapable of producing anything but the desired outcome. The premise is there is always room for improvement until you reach the level of EXCELLENCE! We must constantly monitor and measure this process to insure it is providing us with our goal of ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE.

Currently our Academic Performance Index (726) is below the State of California mandated score of 800. A score of 800 is the minimum acceptable score. We must focus on the top score of 1000 and strive to achieve top ranking. We must not accept anything less. Together we can and will give our children a top level education. Please assist me in giving our children the greatest gift we can give...EDUCATION!
