Council Member; City of Morgan Hill

This information is provided by the candidate

I am a strong decisive leader who can get things done. I have worked to improve the lives of others in South County. I raised four children as a single parent. I have demonstrated my effectiveness in the public service arena, serving on the Board of Directors of South County Housing, which has created ample affordable housing for many famlies, while preserving open space and agricultural land. I am a member of the Morgan Hill Grange, which supports many organizations including Boy Scouts of America and Spirit of Morgan Hill(girls baseball)for the last 7 years coordinated Toys-4-Tots program.I volunteer with the Registrar of Voters, supervising elections at one of the precincts.I am also a member of the Community Action Group of Morgan Hill who provide services for seniors. In addition to my extensive experience in public serviceI retired from Santa Clara County Dept.of Social Services and last but not least I work part time as a yard supervisor at a local elementary school.I believe that it is of prime importance that the lines of communication between a representative and its citizens remain open at all times and be heard no matter what the subject. This conviction prompts me to listen respectfully, innitiate the effort to help solve problems and make decisions that are beneficial to the community and obtain answers that the Morgan Hill citizens need.I will view my role through the eyes of people who elected me and make sure that public business is conducted in public. We need to establish an atmosphere of trust, working together making Morgan Hill a place proud to call home.
