I am a twelve-year resident of Morgan Hill and since relocating here from San Jose, there's not a single place I'd prefer to live. The atmosphere of quiet, safe, family oriented living is like it used to be in my childhood. In Morgan Hill, children can actually play outside in their neighborhoods. And when my own children leave for school in the morning, I never have to worry about safety issues in our public schools.

In the past two years I've been so encouraged to see our beautiful and ultra useful Community Center, which truly has something for everyone. While I've been concerned about the high cost and purity of our water, I think it's important to commend our present city leaders for ensuring the purity of our water by maintaining the perchlorate levels in Morgan Hill wells at "non-detect" levels of below 4 ppm. At the same time, I don't believe our citizens can bear the burden of any further water rate increases.

I'd like to see our downtown serve as the new home for more small retail shops. I'd like to see Morgan Hill attract technology-based businesses, so that perhaps in the future our citizens won't have to commute into the valley when they go to work. I'm a very strong proponent of growth, but not at the expense of our present rural landscape. Without question, Morgan Hill needs an emergency services facility and MRI within our city limits. I don't want to have to leave Morgan Hill when I want to eat or shop (or when one of my boys needs stitches!)

There's a smart way to grow that doesn't include car dealerships that run through residential streets. I am committed to exploring all avenues that lead to growth, without big city grief, for our cozy and constant way of life in Morgan Hill.
