Santa Clara is the envy of every city in the Bay Area...

Santa Clara has the cheapest electricity rates, water rates, and sewer and garbage rates of any city in the entire Bay Area.

Our portfolio of City parks is vastly superior to any other city in the County. Even in difficult economic times, we've been able to build a Teen Center, remodel the Community Recreation Center, build the Youth Soccer Park, and begin rebuilding our Senior Citizens Center.

Santa Clara is one of the 25 cities in the country with the lowest crime rate and has one of the highest rated Fire Departments in the State. They have raised the bar for handling hazardous materials incidents and Fire Prevention.

Our Street Department was selected for having the best maintained streets and pavement in the Bay Area, and our water meets or exceeds every standard for water purity.

Our bond rating is among the highest; our Finance Department is among the best in the State + constantly receiving awards for excellence in reporting and auditing.

We have an award-winning Convention Center and the finest library in the County. Our City employees are the best, hardest working folks you'll find anywhere; and our City Manager was recently selected as "The Best City Manager in the Country" by the International City Manager's Association.

In short, among Municipal Governments, the City of Santa Clara has set the standard for excellence.
