I consider myself a moderate progressive. I believe in taking leadership positions on issues of importance to me and others. I also believe in listening to both sides of an issue to learn how to best craft solutions. I believe Town government should work use the power of government to improve our Town and our lives while respecting individual rights including property rights. I believe our Town should not only provide efficient basic services but also help build community.

I believe Town government should ask, how many of our residents will benefit from expenditures? How many taxpayers will use this service? Is it the most efficient way to provide the service? Does the service fit the overall plan for our Town?

Los Altos Hills has a consensus that we love the rural character of our Town, but building a consensus on the details of Town policy takes work, and often extensive public hearings.

I envision Los Altos Hills that maintains this rural character while being sensitive to individual property rights. I want a Los Altos Hills that is welcoming to young families and the retired alike and to ethnic diversity. I envision a Town that takes advantage of its proximity to Silicon Valley to use technology to our advantage in high speed internet access and cell phone reception.
