George Doorley is the Chairman of the Campbell Planning Commission and served on the Valley Transportation Authority Citizens' Advisory Committee. He works for the Santa Clara County Executive as Principal Budget & Public Policy Analyst. George and his wife Melanie have a five year-old daughter.

Academic achievements include a Master of Business Administration degree in Finance from Ohio State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Wittenberg University. George served as a U.S. Army officer with overseas service in Germany and in the first Persian Gulf War. He was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for combat action and twice awarded the Army Commendation Medal. Following his active duty military service he spent seven years in private sector management and continued his military service in the Army National Guard.

George is married to Melanie Bray Doorley. Melanie is a graduate of UCLA and directs marketing for a travel agency. She is a volunteer docent for the Triton Museum and is a member of the Junior League of San Jose.
