Candidate for
Board Member; Anaheim Union High School District

• There is a tremendous emphasis, through No Child Left Behind, to prepare students for college. However, a large number of students do not go on to college, and these students need more opportunity to prepare themselves for life after high school. I support an increased vocational program to help do this.

• Another area that needs addressing is the national health epidemic in children. I support an increase in educating our students in healthy living through better nutrition and exercise.

• Reading is the foundation for learning. We need to continue to determine which students are not at grade level in their reading skills, and place them in the appropriate programs to improve their reading and comprehension abilities.
