Because of my strong desire to affect and to maintain the exceptional quality of our schools in Fountain Valley, I would like to become one of your School Board members. For the past nine years my family has enjoyed living in Fountain Valley. We chose Fountain Valley because of the exceptional quality of the schools for our two sons. Along with our continuing Board members, I will help to preserve the high standards and achievements of this district and maintain fiscal responsibility as well as ensure that we continue to hire only the finest staff by offering competitive salaries. Having been in education, I am knowledgeable about the inner workings of the educational system, as a former YMCA program director I understand budgeting and fund raising, and as a parent I am sensitive to the needs of families. I taught social studies in the Downey School District, substitute taught in the Fountain Valley District, and I am the wife of a graduate of the Fountain Valley schools. I was active on the board at my son's preschool, a volunteer at Tamura School, and a Neighborhood Watch volunteer. Thank you for considering me to help make the policies that will prepare our students for tomorrow. |
