Political Philosophy:

· Work with the current contract and enforce the agreement as written. Protect the $200 million investment in buildings and facilities. The lease delegated rights to MGH Corp. and now Sutter Health, for the hospital operations of Marin General Hospital "for the benefit of the communities served by the district to manage MGH, Marin Home Care and provide oversight of the MGH Foundation."

· Improve the quality of care in Marin and use the revenue (over $400,000 annually) for positive actions and the resources available for improved healthcare services. Work with the community, medical teams, consumers, and Sutter for the best possible medical service available. Promote the health of ALL residents regardless of income, religion, race/ethnicity, or insurance coverage in the District.

· Change the weak and ineffectual District Board to a board with a viable mission and a plan for positive direction. The Grand Jury gave a scathing report on the Marin Healthcare District and now it is time for new direction and leadership. · Monitor the current patient/hospital concerns at MGH. The issues are complex, but with Sutter Health losing the Joint Commission on Accreditation (Hospital's external quality monitoring system) and the loss of Medicare billing are major concerns to the health consumers.

My promise is to use my 35 years of healthcare and hospital experience and work with the citizens of Marin and the Directors of the Marin Healthcare District to provide leadership and guidance. With my healthcare knowledge, I can work towards improving the current needs and future needs of the District.
