Candidate for
Board Member; Marina Coast Water District; Long Term

After serving more than 26 years in the U.S. Army I retired to Marina in 1992. Since that time I have been working in the private sector as a real estate property manager except for a period of employment with the City of Marina as their Property Manager, a position I was forced to leave for health reasons.

During the 14 years I have been living in Marina I have been involved in city government through various activities. As mentioned above I was the City of Marina Property Manager. As such I became familiar with the needs of the City of Marina from that perspective. This included some knowledge of the reuse of the former Ft. Ord. This area has now become the service area for the Marina Coast Water District.

I spent 2 terms on the Marina Planning Commission. The second term was during the General Plan Update. Working through this process gave me a good understanding of the projected land use issues for the City. These issues will become very important to the Marina Coast Water District in the very near future.

I served as a Code Enforcement Volunteer with the City Planning and Public Safety Departments. This position taught me a lot about the rules and regulations needed to run a public entity. This type of experience will translate well to understanding the regulations and laws governing the Marina Coast Water District.

I now hope to continue to servie my town by being your representative to the Marina Coast Water District.
