Our Neighborhoods are Under Siege!!

By Rick Heuer

Candidate for Councilmember; City of Monterey; Long Term

This information is provided by the candidate
Monterey is the unique and beautiful place to live and work. This is due to the unique character of its neighborhoods, yet Monterey's residential neighborhoods are under siege. The current Planning Commission has routinely ignored adopted Neighborhood Plans...plans which our neighbors spent hundreds of hours developing to help guide their neighborhoods in the future.

Monterey has reverted to the past where concerns of neighbors take second place to pursuit of development. We need leaders on the City Council who will not only listen to our neighbors when they have concerns but will work with them to address those concerns.

During his many years on the Planning Commission and Architectural Review Commission, Rick Heuer had a consistent record of supporting our neighborhoods. For over 20 years he has continued to work to protect our neighborhoods whether it is before the City Council or mobilizing residents.
