Protecting Our Environment

By Betty Olds

Candidate for Council Member; City of Berkeley; Council District 6

This information is provided by the candidate
We must protect our environment, not only for our own enjoyment, but also for future generations.
I am an active member of Citizens for East Shore State Park and a founding member of Save the Bay. I am proud to be endorsed by the Sierra Club. I am opposed to any large scale commercial development at our waterfront. I am also opposed to any gambling casinos anywhere near our SF Bay. I have supported in-fill housing along major transit corridors that is sensitive to adjacent neighbors; a city-wide system of bike boulevards and also voted to connect the Bay Trail and Ridge Trail to the I-80 overpass.
