I am a progressive democrat with strong, particular political beliefs and opinions that I have espoused over my political career. And it is certainly necessary that AC Transit be politically savvy and occasionally active. But for me the most socially progressive cause for AC Transit is the development the most pleasant, efficient, comprehensive, and cost-effective transit service it possibly can maintain. To that end, it needs to avoid the traps of political ideology that often detract from that cause.
