Candidate for
Trustee; Ohlone Community College District; Seat 6

Dan Archer is a retired principal of a Newark School, a Marine Corps Veteran of World War II, and has been Ohlone Board President, Vice President and Secretary. He is Founding President of Ohlone Development Program and Ohlone Breakfast Forum. He is a past member of accreditation teams of Western Association Schools and Colleges.

Mr. Archer has 3,000 plus volunteer hours at Washington Hospital. He is Past President of Fremont/Newark Philharmonic Society, Fremont Art Association and Society of Western Artists. He is host of "Dan Archer Profiles" on a Newark cable TV Station and a past writer in Tri-Cities Futures Magazine. He is a member of the Board of Regents, Holy Family College, and a past Advisory Board Member of Fremont Library Commission, Salvation Army, Head Start and countless other associations.

With his late wife, he was named "Citizen of the Year" by the Ohlone Association in 1994. The "Dan and Marie Archer Art Scholarship annually helps defray costs of select students' expenses while studying art both in the U.S. and abroad. A similar "Dan and Marie Archer Art Scholarship" for area high school graduates is awarded by the League of Volunteers.

Among his awards are A Paul Harris (Rotary) Fellowship. He was honored by the Indo-American Federation for life long dedication and committment to the service of the people.
