Revitalize our business community

Whittier needs healthy, profitable businesses in order to thrive. That's why I supported redevelopment plans for Whittier Boulevard and for the Whittwood. We must continue to promote and attract quality businesses that complement our community.

Maintain safe, livable neighborhoods

Whittier has always had a wide variety of distinctive neighborhoods that are great places to raise a family. To protect that tradition, I have supported traffic reduction measures and playground upgrades throughout Whittier, while our Community Policing policies have kept crime rates low. The Greenway Trail, connecting east and west Whittier, will be another valuable community asset that we must guide to successful completion.

Preserve the unique character of Whittier

Our beautiful hills and our distinguished history have always set Whittier apart. I have fought alongside many others to preserve that wonderful heritage. We have saved historic homes, restored the Pio Pico Adobe, and protected our hills from over development. But the city council must continue to be vigilant in resisting forces that threaten these distinctive features that Whittierites value.
