Professional Background

I have broad experience in journalism and public affairs, including five years as a senior aide to Bill Bradley when he was a U.S. Senator from New Jersey.

In the course of my work in the news business, I've been a manager, editor, writer and correspondent for print and broadcast operations in Washington, D.C., in Ohio and in California. I've been responsible for important activities ranging from international coverage of the White House, Congress and federal agencies to the supervision of local television newscasts. Along the way, I have dealt with an array of public policy topics from education to the economy and the environment.

While serving as Bill Bradley's press secretary on Capitol Hill, I created and administered plans for multi-faceted communications involving executives of both government and business plus the news media, scientific groups, academic organizations and others.

I've been honored by some professional groups including the Southern California Radio/TV News Directors Association, the Cincinnati Editors Association and the White House Correspondents Association.
