Wayne Coates on Education

By Wayne Coates

Candidate for State Representative; District 28; Democratic Party

This information is provided by the candidate
Increasing education funding makes college more affordable.
Huge tuition increases price our young people out of the good paying jobs of the future. By increasing state education funding college will be more affordable to middle class families and they won't go broke trying to give their children a piece of the American dream. Other education issues: Local school boards have lost control of their local schools to state and federal mandates, and we must remove costly unfunded state mandates and return local control to school boards and parents. Every year millions of our tax dollars are wasted by mismanagement and substandard education at charter schools. Charter schools should be held accountable for their results, just as public schools are.
