Questions & Answers

1. What does California need to do to address the current budget crisis?

Stop re-electing politicians who have created this unprecedented budget crisis! If they can not get the job done "We the people" should hire someone who can. We need to cut spending in almost all areas of government, and at the same time try to make it easier for businesses to survive and hire additional workers.

2. What should the state's priorities be for K-12 education? For the Community College System?

Everyone should be entitled to a good education. Local school boards should have more control and freedom in making decisions. Community Colleges need to offer more classes, often due to budget cuts students are left paying the price.

3. What measures would you support to address California's water needs?

I have always been a big fan of conservation, that would be a good place to start. I believe it is wrong to take water away from farmers or rural communities in order to give more water to larger cities like Sacramento.

4. What should the Legislature be doing to address the needs of California's without health insurance?

Fix workers compensation law, then the insurance companies would be more willing to write other types of policys in California (like health insurance at an affordable rate). The way the state is now, our insurance costs have skyrocketed with very little end in sight. I think the state needs to focus on basic services, and once the financial budget problems have been corrected we can re-visit the question.
