Questions & Answers

1. What does California need to do to address the current budget crisis?

Roll back services to what they were 5 years ago. We were not in bad shape then, yet we had a budget surplus.

2. What should the state's priorities be for K-12 education? For the Community College System?

Reform workers comp insurance so that schools can afford to hire teachers instead of paying huge premiums on this insurance.

3. What measures would you support to address California's water needs?

No opinion at this time.

4. What should the Legislature be doing to address the needs of Californians without health insurance?

Encourage non-profits to satisfy the need. It is not the state's place to intervene in areas where private non-profit organizations provide services tailored to the communities they serve. The state is a one size fits all solution that will cost more and provide less than any prediction made by proponents of state run healthcare.
