As a candidate for the 21st Assembly District, I pledge to fight for these priorities:

- Early childhood education
- Libraries

- Small class sizes
- A strong commitment to our teaching professionals

Health Care: Affordable and Available to All

We must ensure that all Californians have access to affordable, quality health care. I will fight for:

- Universal health care provided directly to individuals and their families.
- Investing in education programs on nutrition, exercise, and safe work environments to prevent serious health problems.
- Saving the state money by creating an efficient and effective health care system that serves everyone.

Economy: Vital and Vibrant

We can work together to create a strong, healthy, and vibrant economy in California. I will support:

- Investment in research and development to keep our state on the cutting edge of the global economy.
- Maintaining the Bay Area as a center for economic and technological innovation.

A clean and safe environment is key to our present and future success in California. I will fight for:

- Clean and safe drinking water and air.

- Public areas free from toxic contamination.

Protecting Constitutional and Personal Rights

Our basic freedoms must be protected. I will fight for:

- Protecting Constitutional and personal rights, including a woman's right to choose.
- Upholding the California Constitution's guarantee for the right to privacy.

California State Budget Process: Effective and On Time

Our success and quality of life in California depend on sound fiscal policies. I will fight for:

- Common sense fiscal management
- A 55% majority requirement for passing the state budget.
- Long-term fiscal planning that puts people first.

Sincerely, Barbara Nesbet
