Sending a Green to Congress

Our federal govenment is not working in the interests of the working people of this district.

I was born and raised as a Democrat. My family was working class, and we knew that the Democrats worked for our best interests. I was an active contributing member of the Democratic political party for decades. I was a member of a union, the San Francisco Federation of Teachers, and was an elected official in that union. Union labor supported the Democratic party, and still do........but when our Congress, under a Democratic administration, passed NAFTA I had to face the fact that the Democrats were no longer working in the interests of working people of the United States. The Democrats and Republicans had melded into a single party funded by, and working for, the corporations and people of great wealth.

The Green Party is founded and based on their ten key values. These are: Grassroots Democracy, Social Justice and Equal Opportunity, Ecological Wisdom, Non-Violence, Decentralization, Community based Economics, Feminism and Gender Equality, Respect for Diversity, Personal and Global Responsibility and Sustainability. The theme of my campaign is 'We must take another path', I think that our federal government is going the wrong way. I think that the Green Party is working in the best interests of the people and the earth. I am proud to say, "I am a Green!"
