Leslie Cochren has over 20 plus years experience in the auditing and investigation field, and 3 years experience in computer programming and web design. As a certified bi-lingual, Leslie has worked with numerous Spanish speaking only citizens to assist them in realizing the California Dream

Throughout his audit and investigation career he has received the Association of Certified Fraud Examiner's Distinguished Achievement Award, and has trained other auditors and investigators on techniques to increase their effectiveness. He enjoys working with the public, as well, protecting consumer rights, and educating others on the ways to deter and prevent fraud. He believes is ideal for community services because he truly finds community service challenging and rewarding. His foreign language background offers an advantage in better understanding the multi-cultural issues.

Leslie Cochren has worked closely with the California Legislature on a number of key issues affecting consumer protection. Through the Golden State Chapter of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners he has lobbied successfully for laws dealing with Tele-marketing scams, fraudulent contractors, and fraudulent schools. He has worked with the Chairman of Public Safety via legislative agendas for the past eight years to help in insuring that the financial security of the people is protected. To reach the senior citizens of his district he hosted Senior Citizen Fair in Oak Park, and for the past four years sponsored a group of area young children in AAU Basketball. He has worked as a reader for bi-lingual children at Washington Elementary School and as Counselor in Juvenile Delinquency Prevention at Goethe Middle School.

Leslie has been quoted many times in the Sacramento Bee on areas relating to Consumer protection and has worked closely with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Office of Inspector General in the investigation of 55 million-dollar fraud scheme.

As Director of Student Affairs, Leslie worked closely with Southern Illinois University, Harvard University and the California Department of Education to devise a plan to deal with affirmative action issues resulting from the UC Davis Alan Baake decision.
