Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Kimberley M. "Kim" Knox

Candidate for
Green Party County Council; County of San Francisco

This information is provided by the candidate

I was the campaign manager for the first Green to win a citywide race (Sarah Lipson for School Board in 2002). I worked on the Gonzalez for Mayor campaign from the first day that he announced to the several days after the runoff. I took two weeks off to help gather signatures to get the Minimum Wage ordinance on the ballot in June/July 2003. I was the phone bank manager for the Prop B-Solar Bond Initiative which passed by 72% in November 2001.

I've been coordinating the Absentee Parties being held throughout the City to recruit more progressive voters to register as absentee voters. Absentee voters are more likely to vote in elections-and this is where Supervisor Gonzalez lost the election (he had 10,000 more votes from those who voted on election day but Newsom had 20,000 more votes from those who voted absentee). I have also created forums for DA, Mayor and other races.

Currently, I am the Chair of the SF Green Party's Campaigns and Issues Committee. As the chair, I've coordinated our annual Progressive Campaign Training workshop which is being held in May. The details will be on sfgreenparty.org.
