Shall the Board of Supervisors, rather than individual departments and officials, respond to requests made by the federal or state government for records that may contain private information about citizens?

Summary:
Measure E is a Charter amendment that would authorize the Board of Supervisors, rather than individual City departments and officials, to respond to certain requests made by the federal or state government for City records that may contain information about private citizens where such requests may violate the Constitutional rights of those citizens. Under certain circumstances, the Board would meet in closed session to consider such requests.

Meaning of Voting Yes/No
A YES vote of this measure means:
If you vote "yes," you want to authorize the Board of Supervisors, rather than individual City departments and officials, to respond to certain requests made by the federal or state government for City records that may contain information about private citizens.

A NO vote of this measure means:
If you vote "no," you do not want to authorize the Board of Supervisors to respond to requests for City records that may contain information about private citizens.
