I am an active supporter of community oriented policing. I am working to add additional patrol officers to the streets. As a result of my commitment, there are three new fire stations under construction, as well as a new 911-communication center to dispatch emergency services. I helped establish an independent Office of Police Accountability to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all community members. I led efforts to remember the victims of the terrible September 11, 2001 tragedy while celebrating the rights and safety of Sacramento residents of all religious beliefs, nationality, race and sexual orientation. |
