The Board of Trustees need to have certain tools availble to them to chart a course for development. Developers have had the key to our township for years. Develpoment at all costs is not what the people of Green Township want or desire.Protecting our rural setting and township character is my top priority. This is the reason I decided to become candidate. The character of our township is being leveled day by day. The developers and builders have had the key to this township for years # all one sided and in their favor. We have seen developments that basically clear-cut all the trees out. The hillsides and ridges of trees along with the landscaping give our township the character it has. I'm not against development. We can have development while keeping a meaningful amount of developable open space and green space within it. The time for the township to insist on balanced development that benefits all has long passed. WE MUST ACT NOW. As your Trustee I will only support development that is sensitive to the maintaining the character of our township. Development with a meaningful amount of greenspace sounds good but needs teeth to make it happen. This is why I support TWP zoning and SPI districts. |
