Questions & Answers

1. How would you implement your top priority?

Continue working with Council, Community Improvement Corporation, contracted Planning Firm and the Community. This process is very detailed and complicated. It must have definite goals and objectives. There needs to be further community input and buy in. The results must be logical and viable from the beginning to make the revitalization successful for the businesses and community. Continued Village investments will maintain control over the process and the results.

2. Numerous important issues including transportation, land use planning, housing and economic development for the Greater Hamilton County regions are being deliberated by OKI's Land Use Commission and Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission and Planning Partnership COMPASS; how engaged should local government be in these planning activities? If elected, how would you participate in these planning activities?

In the past, I believe these groups have produced little results. However, in the last year of so, I have seen some positive things come from their actions. The Village should be represented at their meetings to have a closer feel for their plans and actions being instituted. Involvement will at least keep us close to things that effect Evendale.

3. Ohio Department of Natural Resources in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the National Recycling Coalition conducted a state-specific study and found recycling businesses in Ohio generated $650.6 million dollars in state government revenue. If elected how would you promote recycling and support recycling programs currently in place in your community to reduce solid waste generation?

We definitely need to make the public aware of the environmental consequences that convenience packaging and modern products have as long term effects on the environment. Remind residents that the Village promotes recycling by providing recycling bins for home recyclables as a part of the solid waste services the Village pays for.
