Questions & Answers

1. How would you implement your top priority?

I am currently (and plan to continue) working within our strategic plan initiative in the development of a district-wide full day kindergarten program. This program will help provide more individualized education for our younger students. The program will provide our students with the enrichment and remedial support as needed. We are currently piloting a full day kindergarten program in one of our elementary schools.

2. How can the School Board work with local government and the community on use of school facilities for after school programs and recreations?

In the initial stages of our strategic plan process, we held focus groups and conducted in-person interviews with government officials and business leaders in the community to better identify their expectations of the district; as well, build greater cohesiveness in providing quality education for our students. We currently offer after school and extracurricular activities in our schools We are continuing to seek input from our local government and businesses to better educate our students.
