Questions & Answers

1. How would you implement your top priority?

We will not raise taxes. We will continue the current system of providing the best and most cost-effective services, within our present budget. We will uphold our existing zoning code, and strengthen our subdivision regulations, to protect the integrity of our residential properties. We will protect, maintain, and enhance our existing parkland for the enjoyment of our residents and for future generations. We will keep Madeira, Madeira!

2. Numerous important issues including transportation, land use planning, housing and economic development for the Greater Hamilton County regions are being deliberated by OKI's Land Use Commission and Hamilton County Regional Planning Commission and Planning Partnership COMPASS; how engaged should local government be in these planning activities? If elected, how would you participate in these planning activities?

Albeit local planning and zoning codes are prescribed duties of Madeira's charter, the First Suburbs Consortium and OKI Land Use Commission organizations, in particular, offer a collective effort to address development and redevelopment issues. Madeira should be involved, and stands to gain support for the maintenance of our housing and infrastructure. Involvement in these organizations give the City an opportunity to provide valuable input in the manner, that the Cincinnati, area develops in the future.

3. Ohio Department of Natural Resources in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the National Recycling Coalition conducted a state-specific study and found recycling businesses in Ohio generated $650.6 million dollars in state government revenue. If elected how would you promote recycling and support recycling programs currently in place in your community to reduce solid waste generation?

The City of Madeira has a highly effective and award winning recycling program. We will work to continue this program for all residents and businesses. This includes, but is not limited to, generating increased awareness through highlights in our community newsletter and periodic features in the local paper.
