Questions & Answers

1. How would you implement your top priority?

We need increase student passage rates on all proficiency and graduation tests. Effective instructional methods and allignment of curriculum to standards is essential. We need to identify effective methods and reward those who successfully carry them out. Conversely, we need to eliminate ineffective methods and redirect our instructional resources. We also need to challenge more students with APT,Advance Placement and IB opportunities.

2. How can the School Board work with local government and the community on use of school facilities for after school programs and recreations?

We have committed as a Board to work with each community in the designs and specifications for their new elementary schools. Each new scool should "fit" its community. Representative committees from each community will be formed for advice.

In addition we should work with parents and groups whose children live in the District but who attend private schools. We should design new facilities to fit our needs but also meet their needs to the extent possible.
