My name is Mike Vanden Bosch, and I am a lifelong resident of the Modesto area. I have made a conscious effort to enrich and strengthen the Modesto community through my involvement in a variety of non-profit agencies:

• Delta Blood Bank, 3-gallon donor
• Volunteer Driver, Society for Handicapped Children & Adults of Stanislaus County
• Volunteer, 2003 Great American Clean-up
• Volunteer, NEAT/Adopt-A-Street program - Sylvan Avenue and Prescott Road, with brother, Richard Vanden Bosch
• Volunteer, American Cancer Society's 2001 and 2003 Cattle Baron's Ball
• Volunteer Judge, 2003 California Academic Decathlon
• Volunteer Tutor, Stanislaus Partners in Education, 2001-2002

Educationally, I graduated from Modesto Junior College in 2000 with my Associate of Arts degree. I then earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from California State University, Stanislaus, in 2001.

I currently am a journalist for area media, including the Ripon Record, the Merced Sun-Star, and Inside Modesto Magazine. I also host a radio talk show host on ESPN Radio 970 out of Modesto.
