Candidate for
Council Member; City of Los Altos

This information is provided by the candidate

My wife, Crystal, and I have lived in Los Altos for the past 18 years. We love the community, and here raised our five children, all of whom attended the Los Altos public schools. Over the years, I have had many opportunities to serve our community. A few years ago, I purchased the office building at Four Main Street, which provides a charming entrance to the village. We then moved our law practice from Palo Alto to Los Altos. As our children have now moved on to college and careers, I would like to continue a long tradition of service to my community by serving on the Los Altos City Council. Following is a brief outline of my qualifications and prior experience:

  • Law Degree, Hastings Law School.
  • MBA, UC Berkeley.
  • Masters of Public Admin. UC Riverside.
  • 18 year resident of Los Altos.
  • Los Altos Citizens' Financial Advisory Committee.
  • Los Altos Chamber of Commerce, Government Affairs Committee.
  • Los Altos Education Foundation, Board member.
  • Association of Bay Area Governments, Board member.
  • Santa Clara County Valley Transportation Authority, Board member.
  • Twice elected to the Mountain View City Council, Chairman of Council Finance Committee, Mayor, 1980's.
  • Boy Scout Master.
  • Regional church leader of youth programs from Los Altos to Santa Clara.
  • Partner, Packard, Packard & Johnson, specializing in complex business litigation, often working closely with federal agents and the U.S. Justice Department.
  • Chairman, co-founder of Marich Confectionery, leading national manufacturer of gourmet confections, which currently employs over 120 full-time employees.
