LEADERSHIP FROM THE COMMUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY

My purpose of running for Sunnyvale City Council is to ensure that future generations, including my two young children, enjoy the gift of growing up in Sunnyvale as I did and my father before me.

My family has been a part of our community for over 60 years. I have had the wonderful experience of growing up in our community where I learned to ride a bike on our sidewalks, celebrate birthdays at our parks, participate in youth activities, and attend our local schools. I have family in all corners of our city with many friends in between.

We enjoy that our city ranks among the safest in the country; our parks are the envy of neighboring communities; and the overall pride our residents have in our city is superb.

However, we are experiencing a dynamic time, which requires equally dynamic leadership to make critical decisions that will make a positive impact on the future of our city.

These decisions will involve overseeing the revitalization efforts of our downtown area, responsible fiscal leadership through the re-birth of our local economy, and the preservation of our quality of life.

I will work hard to ensure that our city remains among the safest in the nation. I believe there is no greater responsibility of any elected official than that of public safety.

I will ensure that the quality of life of our residents is not compromised as consequence of our current economic condition.

I will work hard to restore the progressive and innovative style of leadership by getting ahead of issues and making key decisions at the right time.

I will strengthen our relationship with our city employees by earning their trust and having honest and open discussions.

I will work to preserve our community by ensuring reasonable and responsible growth and development. High rises need not cast shadows over our homes and parks.

I will promote and encourage community involvement throughout the decision making process that will be inclusive to all views and perspectives. I WILL listen and my door will remain open.

As an experienced business leader, I have the focus, vision, and commitment to get the job done. With over 10 years in a variety of leadership positions in the hi-tech and service industries, I have managed budgets, negotiated contracts, formed business partnerships, and effectively managed an organization with over 100 employees. I have championed programs that resulted in enhanced services while maintaining fiscal responsibility.

I have volunteered in our City and a variety of non-profit community-based organizations.

I've earned the endorsement of our Public Safety Officers and many others throughout our community. I have been pleased with the response I've received and at times, overwhelmed with the support.

In closing, I offer you a candidate who has seen where we've been, understands where we're at, and has a vision for where we need to go. As a 30-year resident, parent, homeowner, and neighbor, I have a vested interest in our future.

I'd be honored to earn your vote on November 4th.
