Governing Board Member; Pleasanton Unified School District

My wife, daughter and I have lived in many parts of the United States and we've concluded that Pleasanton is one of the finest places in the country to live. It's clear the Pleasanton Unified School District is a key reason why people move here. As parents of a sophomore at Foothill High, we appreciate the excellent education she is receiving. As homeowners, we enjoy appreciating property values. With all this good news, why is it time for a new face on the school board? We face daunting educational and budget challenges in a tough, competitive world. As we watch more jobs move offshore, we must not rest on our laurels, and be willing to adjust quickly to prepare our children to meet the talent demands of their future.

As a member of your school board I commit to you that I will listen to you, invite your input and represent you. I will stand as a leader who will always act in our children's best interests. The children of today and tomorrow.

• Positive Leadership focused on creating a future of limitless possibilities for our children.

• School overcrowding should be addressed by building Neal School and investigating the possibility of a new high school.

• Our schools and the talented people who staff them deserve to be celebrated, challenged to meet all students' needs and cared for with respect.
