About James Marshall Vandeventer, Jr.

I was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 13th, 1963, and adopted by an Air Force Dad, James M. Vandeventer, Sr., a few days later. I joined my adopted sister, Cynthia Denise Vandeventer who was 3 at the time. We lived in the United States for about a year and a half, then moved to Bangkok to live with my new Step-Mom, Chalao and her Thai family, during the Vietnam War. I lived with them, having the Thai Culture instilled in me at an early age, until I was around 6, then moved to Oklahoma to live with my Dad's parents, Grandma and Grandpa, in Oklahoma. I received their love and disciplined upbringing until my Dad and Mom came back from Bangkok around 1970 or 1971. I then lived in Oklahoma until I moved to Los Angeles in 1995.

I moved to Los Angeles to escape the cold conservative culture of Oklahoma. I realized early on around 15 that I was Gay, but denied it for many years to escape persecution, even to go as far as getting married, until I finally accepted the fact in 1995 when I moved to LA. I was shortly divorced thereafter and I have since been living with a wonderful, beautiful partner, James Welch for the past 7 years or so.

I am a black and white type of person when it comes to people. I live by a few simple rules. Based on my Christian upbringing, I believe we should all live with love and without judgement. I strongly believe in loving one another and forgiveness. I also believe in always extending a helping hand when it is needed. I believe that only God is qualified to judge. I believe if you are a Christian, you should live within these basic principles. I believe His desire is all of us living in love, harmony, and forgiveness amongst each other. I do believe the challenge lies before each and everyone of us to do this. Unfortunately, many will fail the task God has asked us to do and by doing so, will detroy our children and our future before us. It is time to accept accountability and do what we know is the right thing to do. Not follow the shallow dreams of a selfish few who would lead us down the path of destruction, hate, and fear.

Please spread the Word, love each other and forgive. Live in Harmony. Choose the new path before us, run away from the will of the wicked and divisive.

Whatever your beliefs, I believe we should all have the basic principles of love, respect, harmony and forgiveness. If this occurs, we will all lend a helping hand to those in need and secure a future for our children and mankind.
