Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Rich Gosse

Candidate for
Recall of Gray Davis; State of California

I have a libertarian philosophy. I agree with Thomas Jefferson, that "the government that governs least governs best." Government is at the root of many of our problems. For example, our laws against victimless crimes, which have caused an epidemic of murder, armed robbery, and burglary throughout California.

Legislating morality is not a proper function of government. It didn't work during prohibition, and it's not working now. No matter how much we try to prevent addictive drugs from penetrating our borders, the flow is unstoppable. And the unbelievable cost of arresting, prosecuting and incarcerating drug users is bankrupting our state and local governments.
Unfortunately, our elected officials do not share my libertarian philosphy. They believe in the old adage, "tax and tax; spend and spend; elect and elect." That strategy has won too many elections. Hopefully this election will be different, and the voters will reject the captives of special interests who believe they can squander our money with impunity and still get elected.
I am proud that I am not accepting one dime of special interest money. My campaign is solely financed by individual voters such as yourself who are tired of our state's domination by the wealthy. Please visit my website,, and consider making a donation for the future of California!
