Caprice Young's positions on school safety, teachers, building new schools, accountability and raising standards in our schools.
Students First -- Caprice Young supports the college preparatory curriculum and led the fight to radically increase the number of schools with three-hour after-school programs.

Raising Standards -- A mother of three girls, Caprice Young championed innovating reading programs like Open Court that helped raise reading scores to new heights.

First-rate facilities -- Caprice Young spearheaded an ambitious school construction plan to create 115,000 new school seats by 2008.

Accountability -- Not beholden to special interests, Caprice Young is committed to rooting out the fraud, waste and abuse that keeps funds from our classrooms.

High-Quality Teachers -- The daughter of a public school teacher, Caprice Young fought for an improved teacher training program and supports raising teachers' pay.

School Safety -- Caprice Young joined with City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo to create an anti-truancy program and is fighting for improved student safety in our schools.
