My husband Jeff and I have called Manhattan Beach home for several years. We are raising our three children in what we consider to be our dream community. Having chosen Manhattan Beach for its top ranking schools, clean beaches and the sense of community that comes from our small town atmosphere, I am keenly aware of the importance of these distinctions in our community.

As one of seven children growing up, my parents instilled in us the importance of philanthropy. I have always been involved in volunteer activities and have passed this legacy on to my children. I have been active in civic and social organizations such as our Chamber of Commerce through its Quarterly Business Forum and Leadership Manhattan Beach, which provides leadership training and education on our local government. I was chairman for Robinson Elementary for the Measure M campaign to update Mira Costa High School. Our school had the largest number of volunteers supporting that effort. I have coached youth basketbalI. I have been active in many organizations that support youth, disease prevention, the Arts and education. I am currently a Manhattan Beach Cultural Arts Commissioner. I enjoy being involved in our community.

It is a natural extension of my volunteer efforts to want to serve in my own community on our City Council. My family and I live here, work here, shop here and play here in Manhattan Beach. We walk our dogs throughout the city. We play in our local parks and on our beaches. I am in the schools and out in our public areas on a daily basis. These activities keep me in touch with our community on many different levels. - which is what an elected official should do - be in touch with and reflect his community.

I see the role of councilmember as a full time volunteer position. Once elected, I look forward to serving my commitment with energy, passion, resourcefulness and common sense. I believe in a business approach to making decisions. We must be forward looking in making choices today. Protecting and maintaining our quality of life are dependent on those choices.

I appeal to you - as a businessperson, a volunteer, and a parent - but most of all as a committed Manhattan Beach resident who truly cares about our community and its future. I would like your vote & support on March 4th.
