The Current Board of Trustees

By Mark Gonzaga

Candidate for Member of the Board of Trustees; Los Angeles Community College District; Office 7

This information is provided by the candidate
L.A.C.C.D. needs a breath of fresh air
The Los Angeles Community College District is comprised of nine magnificent college campuses. The Board of Trustees consists of seven members. It is apparent that the current Board of Trustees, as a whole is not performing effectively. Enrollment is down and the tuition has more than doubled. The budget cuts are unacceptable. The fiscal health of the Los Angeles Community College District needs to be properly managed. These are major problems I will correct(Read next position paper, #3: My interpretation of the facts).

I have inspected all nine of the Los Angeles Community College campuses and I have interviewed most of the presidents. I find it apalling that most of the staff, teachers and students at the Los Angeles Community Colleges have never seen nor met the current Board of Trustees. They have met and spoken to me. I will continue to be visible and accessible to the staff, teachers and students.
