My name is Patrick Gatti and I am a candidate for re-election to the La Verne City Council. I would like to talk to you about why I am asking for your vote on March 4th.

I have been on the Council for 21 years, this being my 6th election. I live and own a business in La Verne # owning my own business for 26 years (Florist Shop on corner of 3rd and D Street). My commitment to you the voters of this community is very strong and heartfelt. I am dedicated to upholding the quality of life in La Verne and ask for your support and your vote on March 4th.

Some of my accomplishments in the last 21 years include:

I have in the past, and promise to continue working with our city safety personnel to support the Police, Fire and Paramedic services in La Verne and to keep giving them the tools needed to continue being the best the city Police and Fire Departments in the entire valley.

I am committed to continue preserving the City's mobile home rent control ordinance. This ordinance provides a stabilized rent market for our seniors and others who live in our mobile home parks.

I am committed to continue working with our city staff in building new parks, improving the cities youth facilities and to keep the working relationship developed over the years with our local school district board and staff.

I participated and worked diligently with Cal Trans to ensure that the Foothill Freeway was constructed below grade level with an environmentally sensitive design. I continue to work with Caltrans and City staff to pursue all mitigation efforts with will protect our quality of life now that the freeway is indeed a reality.

I worked to support development of senior housing, including the Hillcrest Homes expansion, which is in progress right now.

Before being elected to the city council, I was a commissioner and eventually the Chair of the Parks and Recreation Commission, I have been the President of the La Verne Lions Club, President of the Order of Merit, President of the La Verne Chamber of Commerce, and a Charter President of Meals on Wheels. In addition I have actively participated and volunteered in many city events. I have been the chair of the Friends of the 4th of July, this is the committee that organizes all of the 4th of the July activities including the parade, country fair, breakfast, BBQ, and fireworks show. I annually support the Christmas Santa Program at the Fire Department.

I am committed to continue working with city staff in ensure a sound fiscal budget for the cities future....especially making sound decisions with regard to the current State of California budget constraints on city governments.....decisions must be thoroughly studied.

I encourage an open door policy for all citizens in La Verne who may wish to share any of their concerns with me. I promise to continue to the best of my ability to serve you the citizens of La Verne if elected on March 4th.
