Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Kris Bailey

Candidate for
Council Member; City of Paramount

This information is provided by the candidate

My political philosophy is simple. I believe that when a person is elected to public office, he or she is elected to serve. When that person ceases to see him or herself as as servant, but rather as a tyrant or a dictator then it is time for them to go. The people of South Gate have just demonstrated how the political process is intended to work. Whenever, a people tire of being oppressed, they will rise up, and when they do, there will be a positive change.

As a member of the city council in the City of Paramount, I intend to be a catalyst for change. Following are some of the goals I hope to accomplish when elected:

Establish a monitoring system to ensure that citizens concerns are heard and addressed within 24 ours.

Establish and attend monthly block club meetings to bring the community together and to provide a platform for listening to citizens concerns.

Establish a multi-cultural citizens advisory council that will provide valuable input as to what the citizens want.

Establish a senior citizens advisory council to ensure that no one is left behind, particularly our seniors who have contribution so much to our community.

Fight to ensure better policing in problem areas like Richfield and the other petroleum streets, and to improve Sheriff's deputies' response times.

Work with the Public Safety Department, Sheriff's Department and Parole Division to ensure the speedy apprehension of parole violators.

Work to ensusre that Paramount receives consideration for all applicable Federal and State funding.

Work with elected officials from other cities to create an inter-city/interagecy Crime Task Force to reduce the number of gang and drug related shootings, and other violent crimes.
